The plate has a working zone provided with ON/OFF interrupter type control units (a1-a4, b1-b3, c1) e.g. control buttons, for controlling an electric adjustment function on an object e.g. seat. The working zone presents a symbolic form for the object on which the adjustment functions are carried out. The control units are arranged in a working volume of the plate or superposed with respect to the working zone. Each control unit is placed on symbolic form of the object at a place occupied by the electric adjustment function that controls the object. An independent claim is also included for a man-machine interface for controlling an electric function to adjust an object.
