PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label design preparation device which can readily and simply prepare a specific label design by combining labels, each being formed of a plurality of rectangular shapes, and a method and a program for label design preparation. SOLUTION: This label design preparation device comprises the following components: a first storage means in which a plurality of designs are stored, a second storage means in which the information on the combination of labels representing each design by the combination of a plurality of rectangular labels, is stored, a selection means which selects a design to be adopted from among the designs stored in the first storage means, a reading means which reads information on the combination of labels corresponding to the design selected by the selection means, from the second storage means, and an output means which outputs each label composing a design according to the information on the combination of labels which are read by the reading means.
