PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noncontact-type position sensor capable of improving assembleability, without having to provide a part which has a complex shape. SOLUTION: This noncontact-type position sensor has a constitution wherein a first magnetoresistive element 22, a second magnetoresistive element 23, a third magnetoresistive element 25 and a fourth magnetoresistive element 26 are provided to be substantially linear, and a detection object 42 having a first enlarged diameter part 44, a second enlarged diameter part 45 and a recessed part 46 provided in parallel with the first magnetoresistive element 22, the second magnetoresistive element 23, the third magnetoresistive element 25 and the fourth magnetoresistive element 26; and the detection object 42 is moved along the first magnetoresistive element 22, the second magnetoresistive element 23, the third magnetoresistive element 25 and the fourth magnetoresistive element 26.
