PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for biodiesel fuel which makes it possible to suitably use, even at low temperatures, environmentally-friendly biodiesel fuel useful as alternative fuel for light oil, and biodiesel fuel which is suitably usable even at low temperatures and which has a wide range of applications, i.e., to provide an additive for biodiesel fuel which lowers the pour point and the cold filter plugging point of the biodiesel fuel to improve low-temperature fluidity, and biodiesel fuel of improved low-temperature fluidity, especially to lower the cold filter plugging point (CFPP) since the CFPP is used as an index of low-temperature fluidity in the European standards. SOLUTION: The additive for biodiesel fuel contains an alcohol-derived compound. The alcohol-derived compound must contain an ester compound of a polyhydric alcohol and a long-chain fatty acid, where the polyhydric alcohol has a polyether structure and/or a polyethylene structure in its principal chain.
