<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser holder that can hold a frame-type semiconductor laser so that laser light can be accurately emitted without causing deformation or breakage and failing heat dissipation. <P>SOLUTION: A projecting part 412 for heat dissipation is engaged with the engaging recessed part 511 of a lower holder member 51, and a laser light source 4 is arranged on the lower holder member 51 so that a base part 432 may be inserted into a frame insertion part 512. At that time, an inserting recessed part 521 is inserted into a wall 431, and a boss 523 is press-fitted into a boss hole 514 and a boss 424 into a boss hole 515, respectively.
