PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester capable of carrying out stable harvesting and traveling, while suppressing tilting to the right or the left of a machine body caused by ridge grooves, without causing side drop of an orbiting crawler, when harvesting root vegetables grown by high-ridge cultivation. SOLUTION: The root vegetable harvester is equipped with a traveling device 1 in an endless track type constituted, by winding on the supporting rotating wheels 3 to 6 the orbiting crawler 9, having a width size W reaching from the side edges of supporting rotating wheels 3 to 6 installed in a row to the outside of the machine body; and an uprooting and conveying device P for uprooting the root vegetables vegetating in a field, and installed in right or left one side of the machine body traveling in the field by the traveling device 1. A front outside assistant wheel 11 is installed in the traveling device 1, on the outside of the machine body from the side edges of the supporting rotating wheels 3 to 6. The front outside assistant wheel 11 is arranged at a position regulated so that the distance L1 between the front outside assistant wheel 11 and the supporting rotating wheel 3 for grounding the orbiting crawler 9 to the field at the front side of the traveling device 1 becomes smaller than the distance L2 between the front outside assistant wheel 11 and the supporting rotating wheel 4 which adjoins the rear part of the supporting rotating wheel 3.
