A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating the inflammatory bowel disease, and a health food are provided to treat the TNBS-induced inflammatory bowel disease by the GITR/GITRL or AITR/AITRL signal interception of an anti-mouse GITRL monoclonal antibody or an anti-human AITRL monoclonal antibody. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating the inflammatory bowel disease contains an anti-mouse GITRL monoclonal antibody or an anti-human AITRL monoclonal antibody as an active ingredient. Preferably the content of the monoclonal antibody is 0.1-50 wt%.
