PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted display device capable of reducing pressure feeling on the head due to a holder and preventing its shifting on the head by making the holder fit to the head. SOLUTION: A head holding holder 2 coupled with a display unit has a front part 2a conforming with at least a portion of the front head, a rear part 2b conforming with at least a portion of the rear head, and a side part 2c conforming with one of the right and left head parts. The front part 2a and the rear part 2b of the holder 2 are connected with each other through the side part 2c at one side of the right and left head parts. The front part 2a and the rear part 2b of the holder 2 are separated from each other at the other side of the right and left head parts so that at least a portion of the other side of the right and left head parts is not held by the holder 2. The rear part of the holder can be folded around a hinge axis extending along an up-and-down direction between a left region and a right region of the rear head, and on the side part, the holder consists of two members rotatable 180 degrees relative to each other around a lateral direction axis.
