PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin retainer for a tapered roller bearing capable of loosening restraints of a mounting space, and improving maintainability. SOLUTION: This resin retainer 14 for a tapered roller bearing comprises a large-diameter annular part 16, a small-diameter annular part 17 arranged coaxially with the large-diameter annular part 16, and a plurality of column parts 18 arranged between the large-diameter annular part 16 and the small-diameter annular part 17 at approximately constant intervals in a perimeter direction. A pocket part 19 rollably holding a tapered roller is formed between the column parts 18 adjacent to each other in the peripheral direction. Outside-diameter and inside-diameter side opening widths of the pocket part 19 are made narrower than a roller diameter of the tapered roller, and the tapered roller can be inserted in the pocket part 19 from a radial direction using elastic deformation of the column parts 18.
