PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract abrasion part of a trolley wire, by discriminating between an abrasion part of the trolley wire and a reflected part of a rigid part to take only the abrasion part of the trolley wire as a white region, and take the background as a black region in a rigid trolley system. SOLUTION: This device includes a means 61 for converting a white region part, having more than the number of pixels corresponding to the maximum width of the trolley wire in the line sensor image to a black region, by presetting the kind of the trolley wire, wherein in the data after binarization imaging the trolley wire of the rigid trolley system, a rigid part is converted from a white region into a black region, to have the same screen configuration as that of the data after binarization imaging a trolley wire of a catenary system.
