An auto transmission is provided to suppress the deterioration of gear noise and the durability of the gear by making the frictional elements into 5. An auto transmission comprises the first, the second and the third planetary gears(PC1, PC2, PC3), and the frictional element of 5. The first planetary gear is made of the first sun gear(S1), the first carrier supporting the first pinion(P1) which is geared with the first sun gear, and the primary ring gear(R1) which is geared with the first pinion. The second planet gear is made of second sun gear(S2), the second carrier supporting the second pinion(P2) which is geared with the second sun gear, and the second ring gear(R2) which is geared with the second pinion. The third planetary gear is made of third sun gear(S3), the third carry supporting the third pinion(P3) which is geared with the third sun gear, and the third ring gear(R3) which is geared with the third pinion. The input shaft is always connected with the second sun gear. The output axis is always connected to the third ring gear and the first ring gear. 5 friction elements are comprised of the first clutch, the first brake, the second brake, the third brake, and the second clutch.
