PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily producing a fluorine-containing alkyl ester such as a hexafluoroalkyl ester by using an inexpensive raw material in good yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing the fluorine-containing alkyl ester (e.g. hexafluoroisopropyl benzoate) includes reacting a compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein, Rf<SB>1</SB>and Rf<SB>2</SB>are, for example, a CF<SB>3</SB>group; and R<SP>1</SP>is, for example, a methyl group) with a compound represented by the general formula: R<SP>5</SP>COX (wherein, R<SP>5</SP>is, for example, a phenyl group; and X is a chlorine atom) in the presence of, for example, pyridine.
