<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform exit pupil correction so as to reduce sensitivity unevenness. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has an imaging area in which pixel units including a first photoelectric conversion part, a second photoelectric conversion part, a charge retention part, a first transfer gate for transferring the charge stored in the first photoelectric conversion part to the charge retention part, a second transfer gate for transferring the charge stored in the second photoelectric conversion part to the charge retention part, a first microlens arranged above the first photoelectric conversion part, and a second microlens arranged above the second photoelectric conversion part are two dimensionally arranged. In at least one of the pixel units, the first microlens has an optical axis offset from a normal line passing the center of a photosensitive surface of the first photoelectric conversion part at a first magnitude.
