PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushion ring without the risk of damaging an U-packing on a rod-side even when a cross sectional V-shaped throttle groove is formed. SOLUTION: The cross sectional V-shaped throttle groove 1a extending from a proper place of the cushion ring 1 to a rod-side end is formed in the outer periphery of the cushion ring 1 to throttle the flow rate of a working fluid to an input and output port formed from a rod-side fluid chamber to a rod-side cylinder head. An end guide surface 1b is formed in the rod-side end of the throttle groove 1a to guide the working fluid flowing through the throttle groove 1a in an obliquely outward direction of the cushion ring 1.
