PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively pump water under a water surface or under the ground, particularly from a high-depth water area efficiently in power saving. SOLUTION: The system comprises: a lifting pipe with its lower end reaching a prescribed depth under a water surface or under the ground, multiple or numerous lifting pumps arranged in a length direction of the lifting pipe at constant intervals; and a high-pressure compressor for pressure-feeding air to a lower end inside of the lifting pipe through an air supply pipe. Each lifting pump contains a pumping screw rotatably installed in the lifting pump, and pumps up water by raising air bubbles in the lifting pipe through air pressure-fed from the high-pressure compressor and rotating the lifting screw of each lifting pump by the raised air bubbles. Thus, bubble energy for rotating one storage pump situated in the lowermost part under a groundwater surface operates all storage pumps situated thereabove, so that water is pumped quite efficiently.
