A strip material, a cutting apparatus for cutting fiber or steel rope strip, and equipment including the same are provided to simplify the layout of a cutting apparatus by omitting an expensive accommodation unit including an opposing holder and a retaining holder. A cutting apparatus for cutting fiber or steel rope strip comprises a clamping device(8), a conveyor belt with an upper run portion(15) extended at the designated angle(beta) or less to the horizontal plane, and a control device(19) for a section(18) of the upper run portion existing in the region of a knife apparatus(4), including a plate(20) or a frame which is horizontally received in the lower part of the upper run portion. The section is adjusted by the control device between the position at the designated angle or less and the horizontal position.
