PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproduction device which continues operation even when a DSP fails, and to provide a content reproduction method and a program. SOLUTION: In accordance with a processing state of the DSP 10 changed by a control of a system microcomputer 1, values of information of selector selection and of operating state of a selector which have been stored in a RAM 1b are updated, and when the DSP 10 is determined to be faulty, the information showing the abnormal state of the DSP 10 is stored in the RAM 1b. When the information showing the abnormal state of the DSP 10 is being stored in the RAM 1b after the DSP 10 is reset, operation of the DSP 10 is started based on the information of the selection state and operating state of the selector of the DSP 10 stored in the RAM 1b.
