PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact and inexpensive anamorphic lens having a super-wide field angle and obtaining anamorphic characteristic that projection where an image nearer to a side surface is higher in height is obtained and an image is emphasized in a vertical direction. SOLUTION: The anamorphic lens is equipped with a front group constituting an anamorphic optical system by arranging a first group lens G1, a second group lens G2 and a third group lens G3 from an object side, and a rear group arranged nearer to an image side than the front group and constituting an image-formation system as a whole. When it is assumed that the focal length of the first group lens G1 is f(G1), the focal length of the second group lens G2 in a vertical direction is f(G2)V, the focal length thereof in a horizontal direction is f(G2)H, the focal length of the third group lens G3 in the vertical direction is f(G3)V, the focal length thereof in the horizontal direction is f(G3)H, anamorphic magnification is M, the focal length obtained by integrating the entire lens is f, the focal length obtained by integrating the entire lens in the horizontal direction is fH, and a distance to an image surface from the end face of the first group lens is TT, they satisfy fH×θ/TT<0.1 (θ: radian).
