Air conditioning system for a communication equipment and a method for preventing the air conditioning system from being frozen to burst are provided to stop the operation of the air conditioning system or operate a heating line when the temperature of coolants or the outdoor is below the reference temperature lest the air conditioning system should be frozen to be rupture. An air conditioning system for a communication equipment comprises: an indoor heat exchange(110) of which temperature sensors are placed at an entrance and an exit; a circulation pipe line(130) through which coolants circulates; a circulation pump(132) which is installed at the circulation pipe line; an outdoor heat exchange(600) which is installed at an outdoor circulation pipe line; a bypass pipe line(140) which circulates coolants without using the outdoor heat exchange; bypass valves(152,154) which are installed at the circulation pipe line and the bypass pipe line; a first cooling unit(100) which consists of a first brown heat exchange shrouding a first heat exchange tube; a compressor(210) which changes the coolants into high temperature/pressure vapor; a condenser(220) by which heat exchange is enabled between the coolant passing the compressor and the outdoor air; an expansion valve(230) which changes the coolants from the condenser into low temperature/pressure liquid; an evaporator(240) which exchange heat with the first heat exchange tube; and a second cooling unit(200) which consists of the evaporator.
