PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic element that exhibits stable direct current superposition characteristics. SOLUTION: The magnetic element 1 includes a polygonal cylindrical core 2 having a through-hole 2c penetrating the magnetic element 1 from its one end face to the other end face, and a conductor 3 part of which is disposed in the through-hole 2c. A first side wall 2d formed as one side wall of the core 2 has a slit 2h that is formed to penetrate from one end face to the other end face and from the inner peripheral surface to the outer peripheral surface of the core 2.
