PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a digital audio recorder/player. SOLUTION: In the digital audio recorder/player, a system control section 1 normally operates with a low speed clock of a low speed clock oscillation circuit 5. When any of operation keys of an operation key input section 2 is operated for input, the system control section is operated with a high speed clock by switching to a high speed clock oscillation circuit 4 by a clock switching circuit 6, and thereafter clock input of the operation key is detected. When the operation key is operated to reproduce music, digital sound data and music information are extracted from a memory section 7 and decoded by a digital signal processing section 8, and the sound data is converted to analog data by a D/A converter section 12 and reproduced, and the music information is transferred to a system control section 1, and the music information is set and displayed on a display section 3.
