PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a controller for preventing solder bridges between leads of a switching element and between the lead and a base of the switching element without any enlargement.

SOLUTION: This invention relates to the controller equipped with: the switching element; an insulating wiring substrate in which there are provided a primary metallic pattern to which a solder bonding of the base of the switching element is carried out and a secondary metallic pattern to which a solder bonding of the lead of the switching element is carried out; and a heat sink which is provided at a side facing to a side wherein the primary and secondary metallic patterns in the insulating wiring substrate are provided, wherein the base of the switching element is laid at a thick member installed in the primary metallic pattern and a solder bonding of the base of the switching element is carried out to the thick member and the primary metallic pattern.
