A controlling system of key hole lamp for vehicles and a method therefor are provided to inform the malfunction of the key contact point and key input signal of the driver. A controlling system of key hole lamp for vehicles comprises the signal input part(60), the BCM(40), and the lamp output part(50). The signal input part inputs the input signal of the ignition key, the connection point signal of the key set, the open/shut signal for the door of driver's seat or the assistance seat, and the on/off signal of the remote key to the BCM. The BCM outputs the control signal differently according to the existence of malfunction. The lamp output part is made of the key hole illumination(52) and the contact point lamp(54) equipped in the key set. The key hole illumination shows the malfunction by flicking according to the control signal of BCM.
