A personal content service apparatus and a method thereof are provided to recognize the situation of a user actively, and then offer contents in consideration of the recognized result in the mixed reality service. A personal content service apparatus(100) comprises the followings: a position measuring means for grasping the location of the apparatus; a direction measuring means(150) for grasping the direction of the apparatus; one or more cameras(110); a situation recognition part for obtaining information about the situation of a user from the position measuring means or cameras; and a controller for extracting/offering contents suitable for the user according to the recognized situation information.
