Lighting device

A lighting device comprises multiple light sources each comprising a primary optics; and a secondary optics for the multiple light sources; such that at the secondary optics the radiation patterns emitted from the multiple light sources have a substantially uniform luminance; and such that the secondary optics transforms the radiation pattern from the multiple light sources into an elliptical spot of light of substantially uniform luminance. A method for manufacturing the lighting device is also described.
