A method for adhering a decoration surface member to a gypsum board, and a gypsum board prepared by the method are provided to reduce construction time and to improve productivity. A method for adhering a decoration surface member to a gypsum board comprises the steps of thermally bonding a hot melt resin to a decoration surface member; and thermally bonding the decoration surface member combined with a hot melt resin with a gypsum board. Preferably a nontoxic polyolefin-based hot melt resin is thermally bonded to paper or fabric as a decoration surface member.
