Device comprises an inclined discharge channel which opens into a pressure sealed low-lying connecting vessel. One or more slag-iron siphons are connected to the vessel, their other ends being contact with the atmosphere. These have slag-overflows and iron siphons which contact the atmosphere and feed the iron into a trough.
