PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clarify a design limit value for the thickness of a phosphor in order to provide a plasma display panel having superior light characteristics of excellent brightness and color purity and no stain on the panel. SOLUTION: In the plasma display panel equipped with phosphor layers including a red phosphor layer, a green phosphor layer and a blue phosphor layer, the plasma display panel is provided so as to make the thickness of at least one of sides of among red, green, and blue phosphor layers at a half-height point of barriers satisfies a condition of D=(S-2L)/SD≥0.64. Here, the D is a width of a discharge space, the S is a distance between the barriers at the half-height point of the barriers, and the L is a thickness of the side of the phosphor layer applied on the barrier at the half-height point of the barriers. The plasma display panel can adjust brightness and color purity without generating any stain caused by discharging as the thickness of the side of the phosphor applied on the barrier is adjusted to satisfy the condition.
