PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating hair, having a low irritation and a high foaming property, and excellent in finished feeling with a conditioner. SOLUTION: This method for treating hair comprises cleaning the hair by using a hair detergent composition formed by mixing (A) an ether carboxylic acid salt type surfactant, (B) an ether sulfuric acid salt type surfactant and (C) a polymer prepared by polymerizing the following 3 monomers: monomers expressed by (a1) general formula (1) and (a2) general formula (2), and (a3) ethylene glycol di(meth)acrylate, etc., and then treating the hair with the conditioner.
