PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generator which can easily rotate a rotary shaft while a rotation force supplied from the outside is relatively small, and is convenient for generating electric power by wind power or water power, especially. SOLUTION: A plane type generator is provided with a stator in which a plurality of fixed poles in which coil windings are wound to an iron core, are arranged in the ring form around a fixed poles supporting member, and a rotor in which a plurality of permanent magnets are arranged in the ring form around a permanent magnets supporting member. These fixed poles and the permanent magnets are prepared in a state of mutually opposing. Further, the rotary shaft which is integrally coupled to the permanent magnets supporting member to be rotatable together with the permanent magnets supporting member, is attached to the fixed poles supporting member freely rotationally.
