PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an igniter capable of igniting mixed gas of fuel and air by generating plasma even by a laser beam of low energy density. SOLUTION: This igniter 1 of an engine has an injection valve 9 supplying a mixed liquid of mixing particles toward the inside of a combustion chamber of the engine, a heater 10 vaporizing the mixed liquid, and a laser oscillator 5 irradiating the laser beams 20 to the particles included in an air-fuel mixture supplied to the combustion chamber, and can ignite the mixed gas of the fuel and the air in the combustion chamber by generating the plasma by the laser beam of low energy density.
