PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-step ladder having satisfactory ease of use and very high safety. SOLUTION: In this multi-step ladder constituting a base ladder body having a pair of right and left column members formed into a substantially U shape when viewed in cross section, respectively, and a single or a plurality of ladder bodies for elongation to extend and contract freely by combining the column members of the base ladder body on an outer side telescopically and holding the ladder bodies for elongation at the predetermined positions, a part of an operation rope for extending, contracting, and operating the ladder bodies for elongation is used also as a main rope for connecting one end of a falling-down prevention implement for connecting and fixing the other end with a worker on the ladder to slide freely.
