The invention relates to a condenser tumble dryer comprising a drying chamber (3) for items to be dried, a process air circuit (2), to which a heating system (18) for heating the process air is assigned, a first fan (19), which is used to guide the heated process air over the items to be dried and a heat pump circuit (13, 14, 15) comprising an evaporator (13), a compressor (14) and a condenser (15). The dryer is also equipped with a second fan (20) and an air/air heat exchanger (11, 12), through which the process air can flow, said fan (20) generating a cooling air stream for the air/air heat exchanger (11, 12) and the compressor (14). Alternatively, the drying chamber (3) is mounted on at least one roller (16) and an additional fan (29), designed to cool the compressor (14), is coupled to the roller (16) in order to be driven by the latter. The invention also relates to a method for operating a condenser tumble dryer of this type. |
