<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projector in which reduction in the visibility of an image projected onto a projection surface is prevented and further, the detection sensitivity of the gesture of an operator can be improved by making it possible to detect the gesture of the operator made in a predetermined direction different from the projection direction of image light, thereby detecting the gesture of the operator, even when the interval between a projector and the projection surface is small. <P>SOLUTION: The image projector 1 for modulating light from a light source into the image light by an optical modulation element, to project the image light through an image forming optical system and display the image on the projection surface 20, is configured to include a gesture detecting means 13 which can detect the gesture JS of the operator OP made in the predetermined direction different from the projection direction D1 of the image light, a detection range setting means for setting a range where the gesture can be detected by the gesture detecting means 13 and a control signal producing means which produces a control signal, based on gesture information as the result of the detection by the gesture detecting means 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
