PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling lever device of a work machine capable of holding a traveling lever at any operating position and having enhanced safety. SOLUTION: This traveling lever device of a work machine comprises the manually operable traveling lever 10 and indicates a traveling speed according to the operation amount of the traveling lever 10. The traveling lever device comprises: a rotation plate 28 connected to the traveling lever 10 and rotated together with the traveling lever 10; a torsional coiled spring 34 applying a returning force for returning the traveling lever 10 to the neutral position to the rotation plate 28; and a holding mechanism 39 for producing frictional forces larger than the returning force of the torsional coiled spring 34 between friction disks 27A, 27B and the rotation plate 28 by pressing the friction disks 27A, 27B against the rotation plate 28 according to the depressing operation of a pedal 38 and holding the rotating position of the rotation plate 28.
