PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus capable of automatically selecting an optimal receiver coil and being made active even when conditions such as a change in photography position, movement of a reagent position, and a change in a photography subject, are changed. SOLUTION: A control means 207 of the MRI apparatus performs spare pulse sequence for inspecting receiving signals of respective receiver coils with respect to a receiver coil 106 comprising a plurality of receiver coils 201, 202, and 203. The receiver coil in which a maximum signal has been obtained in the spare pulse sequence is selected and normal photography is performed.
