<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated film which can optically compensate a retardation of a liquid crystal cell at a high degree and can provide the expansion of an angle of visibility etc., by obtaining a polarizing film with which the orthogonal relation of the absorption axes on the front and the rear of the liquid crystal cells can be formed by arbitrarily setting a transverse size, the upsizing of the screen of a liquid crystal display, more particularly the screen of the arbitrary transverse size can be achieved, a retardation film and a long film can be laminated on each other and the laminated film consisting of the laminate thereof can be efficiently manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing film consists of a long polymer film, contains a dichromatic material therein and has the absorption axis in a transverse direction. The laminated film consists of such polarizing film and the long polymer film and is formed by laminating these films and the retardation film having a slow axis in a longitudinal direction by making the longitudinal directions of the long films corespondent to each other. The liquid crystal display device is formed by arranging the polarizing film or the laminated film on the outer side of the liquid crystal cells. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
