PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric chain saw enabling safe and efficient pruning of the trunks and branches of high branches from the ground. SOLUTION: This electric chain saw has such a mechanism that adjustment of an angle between an outrigger 5 fixed to a chain guide plate 2 and the chain saw is performed by connecting a circular gear on a pedestal 7 with a circular gear on the upper end of the outrigger 5 to fix, the outrigger 5 is prevented from contacting a sawtooth 1 of the chain saw by surrounding the sawtooth at a distance, an integral construction is made from the pedestal 7 of the lower side to the circular gear on the upper end, a part to be curved is formed in a spring-like state so as to facilitate setting, and a part which contacts the trunks and branches is brought to an uneven surface.
