<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the area of a panel frame edge part by reducing the number of scanners included in a peripheral drive part. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel array part 1 of a panel has common wiring CL arranged commonly to each pixel 2. Each pixel 2 includes a switching transistor Tr2 and a sampling transistor Tr1, the control end thereof is connected to a scanning line WS. One of a pair of current ends is connected to the current end S of a drive transistor Trd, and the other is connected to the common wiring CL. A drive part has a light scanner 4 for supplying a control signal to each scanning line WS, a signal selector 3 for supplying a video signal to each signal line SL, and a pulse driver 7a for supplying a control pulse to the common wiring CL by being synchronized with the control signal.
