The optically-anisotropic layer satisfies the following relation Re(450)/Re(650)<1.25. The Re is in-plane retardation of the layer at a wavelength. At least one liquid-crystal compound is a rod-like liquid-crystal compound, and in the optically-anisotropic layer, the molecules of the rod-like liquid-crystal compound are fixed in a hybrid alignment state,.
