<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new phosphor whose fluorescence emitted comprises highly a red color component and whose half breadth is wide. <P>SOLUTION: The phosphor is made to contain a crystalline phase expressed by formula (I): R<SB>3-x-y-z+w2</SB>M<SB>z</SB>A<SB>1.5x+y-w2</SB>Si<SB>6-w1-w2</SB>Al<SB>w1+w2</SB>O<SB>y+w1</SB>N<SB>11-y-w1</SB>, wherein R is La, Gd, Lu, Y and/or Sc; M is Ce, Eu, Mn, Yb, Pr and/or Tb; A is Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg and/or Zn; x, y, z, w1 and w2 are each in the following numerical number range: (1/7)≤(3-x-y-z+w2)/6<(1/2), 0 (1.5x+y-w2)/6<(9/2), 0<x<3, 0≤y<2, 0<z<1, 0≤w1≤5, 0≤w2≤5, and 0≤w1+w2≤5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
