<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a delay time of inverse wavelet transformation shorter. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 101 controls respective units to hold one line of coefficient data of two lines obtained through a synthetic filtering operation, to repeat the synthetic filtering operation for the other line from the highest level to the lowest level to further perform synthetic filtering operation, and to perform the synthetic filtering operation on the held coefficient data preferentially from coefficient data of lower level, thereby generating two lines of baseband image data together at each time.
