PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact drive force normal and reverse switching device with an input shaft and an output shaft arranged in parallel, wherein the device switches an output rotation direction between normal and reverse rotation selectively when driving force for rotating in one direction is input. SOLUTION: The driving force normal and reverse switching device includes an input member 11, an output member 12, and a changing mechanism 13 interposed therebetween. The changing mechanism 13 comprises a bevel gear mechanism 14, a control mechanism 15, and a clutch mechanism 16. A first control member 25 for forming the control mechanism 15 can select restrictions or non-restrictions by an external actuator 27. The clutch mechanism 16 is locked at the time of the non-restrictions, so that normal rotation input to the input member 11 is transmitted through the clutch mechanism 16 to rotate the output member 12 in a same direction as well as an intermediate bevel gear mechanism 23 of the bevel gear mechanism 14 to only revolve. When the first control member 25 is restricted, the clutch mechanism 16 is unlocked, and the intermediate bevel gear 23 rotates only on its own axis to reverse the output member 12.
