The polyester is an esterification product of at least one linear dicarboxylic acid of formula HOOC (CH2) n (where n is 3 to 10) and an aliphatic diol of formula HOCH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OH. The process is quick and cheap, leading to flexible, strong soles which can be cast and secured to a shaft, or directly attached to the shaft by injection moulding.
