A bag 1 comprises an electroluminescent material 12, a battery pack, circuitry and a switch. The electroluminescent material may be in the form of a wire that can be sewn into the seams 10 of the bag, or may be in the form panels incorporating a design or words. The electroluminescent material may be incorporated into a design, logo or motif or may form text or words on the exterior of the bag. The electroluminescent material may provide a steady light or may be flash or strobe. The bag may have an internal pocket for the battery pack with the switch being located on the exterior of the bag. The battery pack may be used to power other electronic devices such as a mobile telephone, MP3 player, Camera or PDS. The bag may be a handbag, shoulder bag waist bag and be made from leather, canvas or a waterproof material. The use of electro-luminescent material makes the bag, and hence anyone carrying it, visible in the dark or in low light conditions. |
