PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anticrime lock of a sliding door, the locking mechanism portion of which cannot be seen from the outside of a room, and which can be hardly opened in a locked state even if an illegal intruder tries to perform an unlocking operation. SOLUTION: A locking piece 30 is provided in a freely protruding/receding manner in the front of a lock case 20 which is provided on an inside sash; a strike plate 70 with a receiving hole 71, which is engaged with the locking piece 30, is provided in an outside sash; a thumb-turn 40, which is operated from an indoor side and the operation of which makes the locking piece 30 synchronously operated to come in and out into the lock case 20, is provided in the rear of the lock case 20; and a guard member 50 is provided in a position to face the indoor side of the lock case 20. In the closing of the door, the thumb-turn 40 is operated in a locking direction, so that the locking piece 30 can protrude from the inside of the lock case 20 so as to be engaged with the receiving hole 71 of the other striker plate 70. In this locked state, the guard member 50 is locked to the thumb-turn 40 so as to inhibit the thumb-turn 40 from being turned in an unlocking direction to inhibit the unlocking of the locking piece 30.
