Provided is a fuel cell stack. The fuel cell stack includes a layered body formed by a plurality of layered plates each having the function of a generator or a separator; a pair of end plates for sandwiching the layered body from outside in the layering direction; a shift suppression member extending in the layering direction of the cell layered body and clamped to the pair of end plates; and a deformable intermediate member arranged between a layered body and the shift suppression member so as to cover at least two plates. A concave/convex shape is formed at least at a part of a surface of the at least two plates or the shift suppression member which is brought into contact with the intermediate member. As a result, it is possible to increase resistance against the inertia force in the in-plane direction vertical to the layering direction with a simple configuration in the fuel cell stack.
