<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of positioning a latent image writing device with higher accuracy by suppressing the occurrence of large distortion while mitigating impact exerted on an opening/closing cover and the latent image writing device, when the latent image writing device is pressed to make it abut on a positioning part and in addition, the opening/closing cover is closed. <P>SOLUTION: An optical writing unit 70, when an upper frame 9 is in a closed position, is made to abut on holding sections 14 and 15, which are positioning parts in the apparatus body, by the bias of a spring 27, thereby accurately positioning the optical writing unit 70 to a photoreceptor 2 in the apparatus body. In addition, when the upper frame 9 is moved from the opened position to the closed position, the impact exerted on the upper frame 9 and optical writing unit 70 can be reduced by an air cylinder 16, thereby suppressing the occurrence of large distortion due to impact exerted on the upper frame 9 and optical writing unit 70 when the upper frame 9 is closed relative to the apparatus body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
