PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable frame and frequency synchronization of OFDM signals without using additional transmission capacity. SOLUTION: In the transmitter, one additional rotation phase is applied to each of pilots prior to transmission so as to generate at least one pilot phase profile. At a receiver a received sub-carrier symbol is compared with at least one stored pilot phase profile, thereby performing, depending on the comparison, the frame synchronization and frequency synchronization of OFDM signals.
