PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device capable of transmitting power between a pair of rotating bodies by using a magnetic fluid, and having a high degree of freedom in setting regarding power transmission. SOLUTION: The power transmission device is provided with a drive roller 2 and a driven roller 3 rotatable around axes X1 and X2 different from each other, made of a magnetic material, and having a gap 15 therebetween; a case 4 surrounding the rollers 2 and 3; an input shaft 16 and an output shaft 17 coaxially connected to the rollers 2 and 3 through the case 4; and the magnetic fluid 18 stored in the case 4 so as to fill the gap 15. The power transmission device is further provided with an electromagnetic coil 21 producing magnetism, and a magnetic passage 24 of the magnetism produced by the electromagnetic coil 21 is formed so that a magnetic field MF from the drive roller 2 or the driven roller 3 to the driven roller 3 or the drive roller 2 through the gap 15 is generated.
